Fiberhome Unitube SM G.652D is an overhead fiber optic cable. It uses 24 single mode G.652D optical fibers. The fibers are placed in a loose tube twisted around a centrally located FRP rod, which is the reinforcing element. Cable is covered with HDPE sheath .
Self-supporting fiber optic cables are characterized by high resistance to severe weather conditions and large temperature differences. Their construction is reinforced by fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) and the outer sheath is made of solar resistant polyethylene.
