TP-Link MC111CS | Media converter | 1x SC/UPC, 1x RJ45 100Mb/s, 1550/1310nm, Single mode

EN
The TP-Link MC111CS media converter is designed for bidirectional conversion of 100BASE-FX fiber optical signal into 100Base-FT signal conducted with copper cable. Thanks to WDM media converter MC111CS uses only one fiber optic cable to transmit and receive data, which reduces the cost of cabling by half. Designed according to IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards. The MC111CS is designed for use with single-mode fiber optic cable using a SC-Type connector.
With the MC111CS and in accordance with the LX long-wave optical transmission specification, the speed of wired data transmission is maximized. The media converter sends signals at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm. On the other hand, in the device to which we connect the converter, it has to send signals of 1550 nm wavelength and receive those of 1310 nm wavelength. An example of TP-LINK device cooperating with MC111CS is the converter MC112CS.
The converter can work as a stand-alone device or can be mounted in a 19' TP-LINK cabinet, and thanks to LED indicators on the front panel the status of the device will always be visible.

The status of the LED does not change when only the SFP module is connected. Only when all connections are correct can the port LEDs light up.
On the SFP module you can see two triangles, as shown in the picture below, the pole towards the outside indicates the Tx port (transmission), while the pole towards the inside indicates the Rx port (reception). When connecting the SFP, we have to make sure that Tx and Rx are matched on both sides, which means Tx <-->Rx, Rx <-->Tx.
In the case of the multimode SFP module, because the multimode wavelength in the visible light range, we can see the red laser from the Tx port after inserting the SFP module into the SFP socket. And when we connect the optical fibre, we can also see the red laser from the end of the optical fibre that is connected to the Tx port. However, in the case of single-mode devices, such a phenomenon is not visible because the wavelength of the single-mode is outside the visible light range.
1) In the case of the multimode SFP we can check the red laser on both sides as explained above; in the case of the single-mode SFP this can be checked with professional fiber optic testers.
2) For multimode and single-mode SFP, the following points should also be checked:
1) All TP-Link SFPs, Media Converters and Switches can work together.
2)Our SFPs/media converters/switches are industry standard and do not have any detection code or any other detection mechanism, but some other suppliers may limit their models to work with their own devices only. If you want to use our SFP/Media Converter/Switches together with devices from other manufacturers, please contact their support person to see if there is any detection project or if you can work with a switch from other suppliers.
