DAC S+DA0003 is a very economical way to connect two SFP/SFP+ devices (e.g. two CCR1036-8G-2S+ units) over very short distances inside a rack or between adjacent racks. MicroTik S+DA0003 means low cost, low power consumption and low latency for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, fiber channel or other industry standards. SFP+ DAC cables are compliant with SFP+ MSA specifications. They offer 10 Gbps transmission at 3 m distance.

We check if the ports on the device are SFP or SFP+ ports. The latter can operate at 10 Gbps. Then we select the fiber optic cable. Single mode fiber is usually used over longer distances, while multimode fiber is used over shorter distances.
