The router has become even better with the new CCR1036-8G-2S+ now has two SFP+ ports for 10G interface (SFP+ module available separately). It uses the same 36-core processor Tiler as our other CCR1036 model and provides the same performance, but it is now possible to create tens of gigabit links.

CCR1036-8G-2S+ has two SODIMM slots, by default it comes with 4 GB RAM, but there is no memory limit in RouterOS (accepts and uses 16 GB or more). The device supports SFP (1.25G) and SFP+ (10G) modules and comes in a 1U rackmount housing, has two SFP+ ports, eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, a serial console port and a USB port.

MicroTik CCR1036-8G-2S+ Router- how to configure?

When you install RouterOS software or turn on the router for the first time, there are different ways to connect to it:

- Access to command line interface (CLI) via Telnet, SSH, serial cable

- Access to the graphic interface (WebFig)

- Using the WinBox configuration tool (Windows application)



Each router is configured by default with IP address 192.168.88.1/24 on Ethernet port1. The default user name is admin without password. After logging in for the first time, please create a new user with the password in group "full", then log in again and delete the default administrator user.

Does RouterOS provide security?

Yes! Access to the router is protected by username and password. Additional users can be added if necessary. Each user group can be assigned specific rights. You can restrict access to the router, which is protected by a user name and password. Additional users can be added to the router; specific permissions can be set for user groups. Remote access to the router can be restricted by the user, IP address. Firewall filtering is the easiest way to protect your router and network.
