Passive PoE is a simple way to deliver energy to an access point on the roof. Passive PoE uses free cables in the Ethernet cable and transfers the power of the devices along the other end. In case of short distance you can use the power supply supplied as standard with the access point or with other network elements that you want to connect along the Ethernet cable. If the loss of voltage in the cabling along longer sections of the Ethernet cable is too high, this should be prevented by using a stronger power supply.
The complete PoE set consists of two elements, namely injector and crossover. The device is suitable for use with products that do not generally support Power Over Ethernet. Passive Power Over Ethernet - SET is used in a wide range of network products such as access points, routers, IP cameras, modems, switches, embedded computers or other network devices. The devices can be powered up to 50 V as standard. The power supply is not included in the price. The passive PoE range is typically 30-40 meters/100-130 feet. The actual distance depends on the type of power supply, type of cable and powered device.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a network function defined by the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards. PoE enables Ethernet cables to supply power to network devices within existing data transmission.
The PoE technology cooperates with most of the network devices from any manufacturer, such as access points, routers, IP cameras, modems, switches, embedded computers.
