Ubiquiti Enterprise 7: The new standard for Wi-Fi in the business sector
The Wi-Fi Allianceapproved the Wi-Fi 7 standard on January 8, 2024, allowing manufacturers to launch devices supporting the new standard. However, work on Wi-Fi 7 -compliant devices had been underway long before the certification, with manufacturers merely waiting for the official approval to begin mass announcements and sales. This was particularly evident on the day of certification, when many leading manufacturers unveiled their devices supporting IEEE 802.11be.
Almost a year has passed since then. We decided to take a look at what new solutions have been offered by Ubiquiti - one of the world's leaders in networking equipment - in the segment of Enterprise devices with support for Wi-Fi 7 technology.
UniFi Enterprise 7 (E7)
The first and smallest device in Ubiquiti's Enterprise family is the UniFi Enterprise 7 (E7) access point. It replaced the U6-Enterprise model, introducing support for the new Wi-Fi 7 standard and a number of improvements. Both the internal components and the design of the device have changed: from the traditional round housing of UniFi access points to a square one, reminiscent of Huawei, Aruba or Cisco solutions.
UniFi Enterprise 7 (E7) features impressive performance. The device supports more than 1,000 clients in 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards (Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7) and provides high throughput. To avoid a network bottleneck, the manufacturer has equipped the device with a 10 GbE RJ45 port with PoE support .
Since Enterprise-class devices need to operate uninterrupted, even in the event of a switch failure, the UniFi Enterprise 7 (E7) is additionally equipped with a backup RJ45 port with PoE in, but with a maximum speed of 1 GbE. This solution allows to maintain stable Wi-Fi operation in critical situations.

UniFi Enterprise 7 Campus
The UniFi Enterprise 7 Campus (E7-Campus) is an outdoor variant of the UniFi Enterprise 7 (E7) access point, designed to operate in dense environments with high levels of radio interference. This device is equipped with improved performance to ensure stable connection even in harsh conditions.
The UniFi Enterprise 7 Campus stands out for its ease of installation thanks to an ergonomic bracket and quick-mount system, which simplifies installation and reduces deployment time. The access point is equipped with two RJ45 ports: one with 10 GbE bandwidth with PoE support , and the other - a spare - with 1 GbE bandwidth, also supporting PoE .
Ubiquiti declares that the UniFi Enterprise 7 Campus can provide coverage of up to 465 sq. m. and simultaneous connection of more than 1,000 devices. This makes it ideal for use in open spaces, campuses, parks and other public areas.

UniFi Enterprise 7 Audience (E7-Audience)
Another innovation from Ubiquiti - the UniFi Enterprise 7 Audience (E7-Audience), which replaces the powerful BaseStation XG WiFi access point, proven in large spaces, sports arenas and concert stages. The main advantages of the UniFi Enterprise 7 Audience (E7-Audience) over its predecessor are support for the new Wi-Fi 7 standard, which significantly increases data rates and allows the use of a radio spectrum analyzer to optimize coverage and performance.
Like all Enterprise Series access points, the E7-Audience is equipped with two RJ45 ports: one with 10 GbE bandwidth with PoE support , and a spare with 1 GbE bandwidth, also supporting PoE . The device is specifically designed for scenarios with high user density. To this end, Ubiquiti has incorporated PRISM™ RF Filtering technology, previously used in AirMAX 5AC Gen2 point-to-multipoint access points, to minimize interference and improve signal quality.
