The MikroTik L009UiGS-RM is an 8-port gigabit router from MikroTik's new L009 series, which replaces the popular RB2011 series. The L009UiGS-RM router is the successor to the RB2011UiAS-RM and offers significantly more power and features to meet the demands of modern networks.
The L009UiGS-RM router is equipped with a dual-core ARM processor clocked at 800 MHz and 512 MB of RAM. This provides four times the performance of its predecessor, which had a single-core 600 MHz processor and only 128 MB of RAM. This significant improvement makes MikroTika's latest router offer outstanding performance in routing, filtering, complex firewall rules, IPsec hardware encryption and other advanced RouterOS features.
The ARM processor architecture provides a significant advantage over older MIPS-based devices. It allows you to use the latest Linux kernel features and deploy custom container projects. The combination of a modern ARM processor and a full-size USB port is ideal for running custom projects, such as a Pi-hole advertising block or adding an LTE modem via a USB port .
The L009UiGS-RM router has 8x gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 1x SFP slot (1 Gbps with 2.5 GB/s support). The first Ethernet port is equipped with PoE power input (24 - 56 V DC), and the last port offers PoE output. In addition, the router has one USB 3.0 port, which expands the device's capabilities to connect a variety of accessories.
At the heart of the device is a high-speed Marvell Peridot Switchchip, which offers an impressive 2.5-gigabit full-duplex connection from the processor to all ports, except Ether1. The first port has its own gigabit full-duplex line to the CPU, eliminating bottlenecks and enabling myriad configurations.
The new L009UiGS-RM router case, inspired by the RB5009 series, is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional. It acts as a massive heat sink, protecting the device from overheating. The router comes with a K-79 rackmount kit, which allows up to four L009UiGS-RM routers to be mounted in a single 1U high space in a 19" rack.
