Every user using a wireless network over a larger area has certainly encountered connection or coverage problems at individual locations. If thick walls or floors stand in the way of a signal, connection quality drops dramatically. You can buy better WiFi antennas for your router, but don't fool yourself, it doesn't always work. Therefore, a solution for this kind of solution can be a set of network transmitters Powerline Adapter.

What is a Powerline Adapter?

Powerline TPLink is a network transmitter that allows you to increase the range of your LAN or wireless network using the power network. How does it look in practice? Well, we connect the purchased powerline adapter, i.e. our transmitter, to one of the sockets and then connect the Ethernet cable to it. Our adapter sends an Internet signal over our power network. Now we can connect the receiver (the device is sold as a powerline kit) of the network anywhere in the house/apartment, and it will receive the data from the transmitter and send the signal further down the house.

With a connection to the router via the electrical network, our powerline ethernet provides us with access to the Internet in parts of the building where the range has not been reached before. The transmission speed depends on the type of device, but when it comes to Powerline TPLink (PLC TPLink) speeds often reach over 1 gigabit per second. Installation of devices is extremely easy to do, so even a computer layman can cope with it.

The transmission speed depends on the type of electrical network?

Not everyone realizes that network transmitters and their transmission speed is partly dependent on the installation of the electrical network. We should know that older electrical circuits consist of two wires. The newer ones, on the other hand, consist of three (phase (L), neutral (N) and protective (PE)). With an electrical network consisting of three, not two, not three wires, our data transmission will be up to 80% higher, and our TPLink powerline will reach its maximum speed through the electrical network. Fortunately, a three-wire network is already standard in almost every house or apartment and in most cases there is nothing to worry about, our network devices and the network transmitter should now work perfectly.

It is worth remembering, however, that if we have a low bandwidth connection, even the best powerline will not make us reach the highest speeds. Moreover, to get the best bandwidth of our powerline kit we should connect the adapter directly to a power outlet, not to an extension cord or power strip. It should also be remembered that the further away the adapters are from each other, the faster the speed can drop gradually. So it's worth testing what distance will be optimal for us without losing most of the signal.
