The whole infrastructure of optical networks is becoming more and more complicated over time due to the growing needs of subscribers, and thus fiber optic technology effectively displaces copper cables. The solution, which is the construction of a passive network, is very beneficial, because no active devices can be found along the entire length, so the risk of failure is minimal. However, such an investment requires the purchase of many devices and accessories intended for this type of network. These include: rack cabinets in the most common size olt 1u (and in them patch panels), fiber optic cables. Olt 4ge supports, even several EPON systems, in this case it supports one to four (allows for efficient operation of up to four epon systems). To separate the signal it is necessary to purchase switches e.g. 2x sfp. It is also worthwhile to invest in surge protection strips e.g. by hsk data.
